Machining Quality Control Inspector
The Machining Quality Control Inspector for our machining department is to support our growing activity in equipment manufacturing. The position requires experienced Machinists with the ability to operate manual mills and surface grinders to machine precision parts and complete final inspection of all machined parts.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain Bridgeport Mills and Surface Grinder.
- Machine and inspect parts using a variety of instruments including outside and inside micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, scales, and tape measures to verify measurements and tolerances are to print specifications.
- Machine parts verifying measurements and tolerances are to print specifications
- Prepare write ups of parts that need to be sent for heat treat, zinc plating, etc.
- Keep meticulous records of calibration of company tools.
- Participate in annual ISO audit regarding inspection process.
- Routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
- Ability to work independently while effectively coordinating work with other team members.
- Ability to work on multiple projects as well as be a member of a cross functional team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with team members.
Requirements
- 10+ years of machining experience.
- Faro experience: Faro arm and Polyworks, a plus.
- Blueprint reading is a requisite.
- Ability to machine parts per print specifications.
- Working knowledge of machinist’s charts and tables, with an understanding of the working properties of of metals.
- Must be able to calibrate, read, and use measuring devices e.g., scale, calipers, and micrometers.
- Capacity to operate a Forklift and Crane, training will be provided.
- Adaptability to changing project requirements and schedules.
- Willingness to learn and desire to contribute as part of a dynamic and productive team.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- Basic Computer skills.
